書籍を読む時間がない場合、リスニング能力向上等の手段として、有益な１つのオーディオブック。掲題のサイトはAmazonよりもかなり安価で取得でき、各種Playerも充実していて使い勝手がよい。コンテンツは購入後、会員のMy Libraryに登録され、後は専用ソフトウェアでダウンロードしてPC・iPodやBlackBerry（後述）、CDに焼いて聴くことができる。通常の無料会員の他、月額有料のGold/Platinum会員があり、$14.95 or $22.95/月～支払うことでそれぞれ1・3本毎月無料、購入も30%off～なる。

尚、年末等には以下のようなキャンペーン・メールが来るので、一時的に有料会員になるというのも手。

 肝心のコンテンツだが、書籍として出版されている物の他、大統領の就任演説やNew York Times やWall Street Journal等新聞のダイジェスト版配信などもあり、無料の物も多数あるのでリスニング目的でも十分使える。書籍では、例えば、現在日本でも売り上げランク上位を占める「フリー(NHK出版)」が、著者の意向だろうが、無料で手に入る（但し、会員登録で国名をUSで登録する必要あり、JapanではDownload不可）。

BlackBerryでは、http://www.audible.com/bb から専用のソフトウェアをダウンロード可能。起動し、PCで登録した会員IDからMy Libraryを参照、購入済みの物を保存・ストリーミングできる。
