プーさんが、Managerのイロハ、即ち”目標”、”組織”、"動機付け”、”人材開発”、”コミュニケーション”、”評価・分析”について、"The Stranger"の指導やクリストファー・ロビン、ティガー、ピグレットといったお馴染みの仲間達とのやりとりを通じて学んでいく。すっとぼけたプーさんなど、その世界観は壊さず再現されており、プーさんの読み物としても楽しめる。
一体全体、どんな読者をターゲットにしているのかと疑問を持ちながら、初戦は入門書と読んでみれば、XY理論の説明やらピーター・ドラッカーの書の紹介やら、節々の解説やら、学ぶことが多かった。
以下、備忘録。
"It is very, very difficult to change someone, (略) You see, the manager really can't develop people. It just can't be done. All she can do is to provide an environment that encourages them to develop themselves."(P.129)
